- Myeasha Kimble, a University of California, Riverside, mother, sued the school and the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. She claims the school and fraternity allowed continuous dangerous hazing of new members caused her son’s death.

- Tyesha Calhoun sued Riverside city and two police officers for battery, violation of civil rights and negligence in 2018. Calhoun and her daughter and son, Tyzjon, were hit by a drunk driver Jan. 7, 2015. When the police arrived, they pulled their guns on the injured family, and broke Calhoun’s knee by slamming her into the concrete using her hair, Calhoun’s complaint claims.

- An autistic elementary student at De Anza Elementary School claimed, through his mother, that he was raped and molested by another student Jan. 24, 2019. At the time, the student was participating in the school’s after school program for special education students. They sue for negligence.
