The Riverside District Attorney’s Office charged Bryan Flores Valdez with 13 felony counts of sexual abuse of minors on Aug. 9.

Prosecutors accuse him with three felony counts of sex with a child under 10, three felony counts of aggressive sexual assault of a minor, three felony counts of possession of child pornography, three felony counts of use of a minor for an obscene matter, one felony count of bringing child pornography into the state, and three misdemeanor counts of annoying a minor.

Flores Valdez is represented by the Office of the Public Defender. He was arrested the day after his 24th birthday.

The man was previously charged on Aug. 18, 2022 (RIM2211010) under allegations of exposing himself to children near Corona elementary schools, according to the DA’s Office. He faced three misdemeanor counts of annoying or molesting a child, which would have carried a maximum penalty of $15,000 and three years in prison. He pleaded not guilty to those allegations. A jury trial was held in January, but it ended in a deadlock, according to Thalia Hayden, spokesperson for the DA’s Office.

A trial readiness conference in the case will be held Aug. 23, the same date as his arraignment. He has been out on bail since Dec. 7, 2022. He submitted proof of enrollment in a GPS monitoring program due to that case on June 25.

Flores Valdez lived in Eastvale, near the intersection of Archibald Avenue and Chandler Street, and between the Santa Ana River and McCune Family Park.

If convicted on all counts, Flores Valdez could face life in prison.

He is being held at Banning’s Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility.

The arrest and investigation was done by the Riverside County Child Exploitation Team, an affiliate of the San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children task force led by the District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation. The team partners with law enforcement agencies, including the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.

Kevin Beecham and Kalista McCauley prosecute. McCauley prosecuted in the earlier case as well.

Deputy Public Defender Kelsey Fraser defended Flores Valdez in the previous case. His public defender is not yet listed for the felony case.
