A five-day May 31 trial is set to determine if Upland man John Biagianti provided the fentanyl that resulted in the overdose death of Moreno Valley woman Krysten Dauss. Biagianti pleaded not guilty to the single charge the day of his arrest, April 8.
Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies found Dauss dead Aug. 9, in a housing block directly north of Poorman’s Reservoir, according to a department press release.
The sheriff’s department claimed they found Biagianti after a monthslong investigation.
Neither the sheriff’s department releases nor the currently available court documents outline details about why they believe he is responsible.
Biagianti has $50,000 bail.
California Central District Judge Jesus Bernal presides.
Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen T. Merrill is prosecuting.
David Wohl of Riverside’s Wohl Law APC is defending.
Case number 5:22-cr-00098.
