The San Bernardino District Attorney’s office charged a Rialto couple with eight charges of child torture or child abuse over the course of nine years May 24.
Fernando Mendez Inzunza and Jessica Salas-Ruiz denied the charges May 26.
Mendez Inzunza faces two felony counts of torture and two felony counts of child abuse. Salas-Ruiz faces four felony counts of child abuse.
The complaint includes allegations the couple abused and tortured four of the five children in their care. The complaint did not specify if the children were their own. The children’s last initials, included on the complaint, did not match either
