Two Riverside County Superior Court clerks accused of violating a court order by printing a search warrant pleaded not guilty Aug. 18.

Angela Franz and Michelle Valdez were indicted April 14, each on one count of conspiracy to commit a crime.

Neither their attorney nor the prosecutor have returned requests for comments.

The District Attorney’s office claims in a press release that Franz printed a sealed search warrant and provided it to Valdez Jan. 16, 2020, when they were working at Indio’s Larson Justice Center.

“Both defendants had been court clerks for several years and would know that reviewing, printing, and sharing a sealed court document in this manner would be against the law,” the office wrote in a press release.

They both are out on $10,000 bail.

Deputy District Attorney Francisco Navarro prosecutes.

Attorney John Dolan defends.
