In honor of National Handwriting Day, Follow Our Courts is taking a look a common question: Can handwriting enter into a case?

Yes, as long as the handwriting analysis expert qualifies under both the Rule 702 of the Federal Rules of Evidence, which says that an expert witness may testify if they are proven to have specialized knowledge, sufficient facts/data, and reliable principles/methods, and the Daubert Standard (established in the U.S. Supreme Court case Daubert v. Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals, Inc.)
