For six months, a Chino Hills man tortured and raped a woman he had kidnapped, according to the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s office June 10 complaint. Peter Anthony McGuire, 59, who goes by Anthony, pleaded not guilty to all 10 of his felony charges through a video arraignment in county jail June 13.
Chino Hills Police Department deputies found a woman described in the complaint as a victim at Chino Hill’s Alterra Park around 7:20 p.m. June 9. She told officers she had escaped from McGuire’s residence in the Cordovan Court cul-de-sac, which borders the park, minutes earlier, according to the department’s press release.
The woman told the deputies she was held against her will, tortured and raped by McGuire, according to the department.
She reportedly had visible injuries that matched her claims of injury.
McGuire had fled his house when the police arrived, according to officers.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division found McGuire in a residence in Placentia, Orange County, June 11. He barricaded himself inside the residence, but surrendered around 8:30 a.m.
The DA charged McGuire with torture, kidnapping, kidnapping to commit another crime, mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment by violence, rape, two counts of sodomy by force and forced oral copulation.
He is being held without bail. A pre-preliminary hearing will be held June 16.
San Bernardino Superior Judge Richard Peel will preside at the pre-preliminary hearings.
Public Defender Valarie Young appeared for McGuire at the arraignment.
