Gov. Gavin Newsom announced the appointment of two new judges to San Bernardino Superior Court June 27.

San Bernardino Deputy Public Defender Zahara Tigeri Arredondo and Riverside Deputy County Counsel Sarah Oliver will join the bench.

Arredondo joined the public defender’s office in 2008, after graduating from Trinity Law School.

Oliver joined the bar in 2002, after graduating from Whittier College School of Law. She worked at Children’s Law Center of Los Angeles from 2006 to 2018, before joining the county.

“We are looking forward to working with our new judges and continuing our partnership with the Governor to fill critical vacancies within our County,” San Bernardino Presiding Judge R. Glenn Yabuno said, according to a press release.

The court says it has five judicial vacancies and requires 30 more judicial officers to meet its current caseload.

San Bernardino District Attorney Enrique Guerrero was appointed to the bench May 19.
