Kelly Boylan, a serviceman at the U.S. Army’s Fort Irwin National Training Center, was charged on two counts of sexual assault April 16. He pleaded not guilty to both charges May 14.

The indictment accuses him of one count of rape, and one count of abusive sexual contact. The complaint alleges both acts occurred on July 31, 2020, in Fort Irwin. The U.S. Attorney’s Office press release says that the alleged victim was one of Boylan’s subordinates.

Fort Irwin is 36 miles northeast of Barstow. 

A jury trial is scheduled for July 8, with United States District Judge Wesley Hsu presiding.
