The foster family was accused of sexually abusing children placed in their custody—specifically two members of the Turpin family, who had been placed in foster care after escaping their abusive parents.
Marcelino Olguin, the father, pleaded guilty to nine felony counts: seven counts of a lewd act with a child under 14 years old, one count of inflicting injury on a child, and one count of false imprisonment. Additional three charges of willful child cruelty and a second charge of false imprisonment were dropped.
Rosa Olguin, the mother, and Lennys Olguin, their daughter, each pleaded guilty to identical charges: three counts of willful child cruelty, one count of false imprisonment, one count of intimidating a witness and theft over $950. Additional charges of false imprisonment, inflicting injury on a child, willful child cruelty, and intimidating a witness were dropped against both of them.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 18. The family was charged Nov. 3, 2022.
