Fausto Atilano of Temecula’s Fausto’s Bail Bonds is facing 14 felony counts alleging false judicial records and perjury.

The Department of Insurance claimed he created fraudulent motions to deprive the courts from bail bond payments that resulted in false gains of over $528,000.

He claimed fugitives who had taken out his bonds were in Mexico, and had worked with Mexican officials to find look-alike subjects that would pose for photographs, the department claimed. In instances where fugitives were in a foreign country, Atilano would no longer have to pay bail bonds back to the court.
