San Bernardino Supervising Deputy Public Defender Albert Hsueh and Riverside prosecutor Scott Williams will join the judicial bench.

Gov. Gavin Newsom announced his appointment of both attorneys Jan. 29.

“The appointment of Mr. Hsueh is a welcome addition to the San Bernardino bench and is another step to filling the critical judicial vacancies within our county,” said Presiding Judge Lisa Rogan in a press release.

Hsueh has served as Supervising Deputy Public Defender since 2021, and joined the Office of the Public Defender in 2010, when he joined the bar. He graduated from the Golden Gate University School of Law, and fills the vacancy created by Judge Tara Reilly’s
