Inland Counties Legal Services honored volunteers and supporters Thursday night for helping their mission to “close the justice gap in our community.” The celebration was on Zoom, which the executive director, Darrell Moore, lamented.

I’m hearing the lament everywhere. A year ago every meeting’s theme song was “You have to unmute. You’re on mute.” This year’s is “When will we start meeting in person again?”

“Everybody is done with Zoom meetings,” Moore said, followed with a nice point. “Our ability to participate represents our resilience and adaptability under these circumstances, and that’s what we’re here to honor in our volunteers tonight.”
