Sex offender registration: San Bernardino Superior Judge Alexander Martinez’s denial of termination of sex offender registration affirmed in part, reversed in part, in People v. Morales (22AD29000152/E081633)
- The appellate court approved Martinez’s denial of Victor Morales’ petition to terminate his sex offender registration. They ordered Martinez to review the number of years Morales must wait until he refiles a position.
Child custody: Riverside Superior Commissioner Elizabeth Tucker’s termination of parental rights conditionally reversed in In re D.R. (INJ1300374/E083482)
- The appellate court found that the termination of parental rights be paused until Riverside County properly investigated the child for potential Native American heritage as required by federal law.
