- Riverside Superior Judge Kira Klatchko partially granted a demurrer in case Planet Bingo v. Advantech/CVPS2202747
- Planet Bingo, a gaming technology company, sued Advantech, claiming they failed to produce electronic bingo tablets in violation of a contract they had. Planet Bingo brought 11 causes of action, including breach of warranty and negligent interference with economic relations. Advantech requested the entire complaint be thrown out. The court dismissed the breach of contract causes and the negligent interference causes, but let the remaining causes stand.

- Pejman Noroozi claims John Gibbs stole a stove range, refrigerator, marble statues and paintings from the Noroozi’s home after the Gibbs vacated the rental. The court dismissed the case as to Noroozi’s breach of contract and damage to real property claims. The causes for negligence, conversion and breach of covenants remain. The breach of contract demurrer was uncontested.
- Riverside Superior Judge Manny Bustamante denied Palm Springs’ request to throw out a case in Johnson v. Palm Springs/CVPS2203828
- Kathleen Johnson, an elderly woman, sued Palm Springs after tripping on a sandbag used to support a construction fence on the sidewalk in 2021. She claimed she had severe personal injuries from the fall. Her complaint brought causes for dangerous condition of public property, negligence, loss of consortium and interference with rights of a disabled person. Palm Springs asked the judge to throw out the case, citing lack of facts to establish a dangerous condition. The judge found that Johnson stated enough facts to make a cause of action.
