  • Dezarae Munoz v. Chad Bianco (5:23-cv-02063): Civil Rights Act. California Central District Judge Jesus Bernal presides.
    • Ulysses Munoz Ayala was murdered by another inmate in Murrieta’s Cois M. Byrd Detention Center on Sept. 29, 2022. His daughter is suing Sheriff Chad Bianco for a civil rights violation.
  • Kidd v. Bianco (5:23-cv-02072): Civil Rights Act. Unassigned.
    • Justin Kail died of a drug overdose in the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center on May 17. His mother, wife and two daughters bring this civil rights claim.
  • Arturo Hernandez v. United States of America (5:23-cv-02059): tort claim (auto accident). California Central District Judge Jesus Bernal presides.
    • Hernandez is suing the government after getting in an accident while offroading, as a passenger, at Cougar Buttes OHV area, in the desert north of the San Bernardino mountains. The land is maintained by the Bureau of Land Management. He claims the BLM failed to provide safe conditions by not posting safety signs.
  • Dr. Sharon Jamie, M.D. v. US Department of Veteran Affairs (5:23-cv-02070): job discrimination (employment). California Central District Judge Jesus Bernal presides.
    • A doctor at Loma Linda’s  Veteran Affairs Hospital is suing the VA. She claims a supervisor, Dr. Farrukh Merchant, sexually harassed her by offering quid pro quo sexual advances, and marginalized her and put her in a position to fail when she denied them.
  • Raul Uriarte-Limon v. AcuTintPros, Inc. (5:23-cv-02056): Americans With Disabilities Act California Central District Judge Sunshine Sykes presides.
    • Uriarte-Limon, a wheelchair user, is suing the AcuTintPros tint shop by the intersection of Upland’s Foothill Boulevard and Benson Avenue. He visited the shop Sept. 8, and showed he purchased a new tint. He claims the shop does not have accessible parking.
  • Raul Uriarte-Limon v. S and J Capital Group LLC (5:23-cv-02080): Americans With Disabilities Act. California Central District Judge Jesus Bernal presides.
    • Uriarte-Limon, a wheelchair user, is suing the Tint Masters tint shop by the intersection of Ontario’s Mission Boulevard and Central Avenue. He visited the shop Sept. 13. He claims the shop does not have accessible parking.
