ROUNDUP: Inland Empire’s unpublished appellate rulings Nov. 10

Appellate rulings that impact cases, but do not set precedent:

• Murder resentencing under California’s Reform Law Section 1172.6 (formerly Section 1170.95): Riverside Superior Judge John Molloy’s ruling reversed with directions: defendant’s petition for resentencing in his murder conviction related to his sodomization and torture of a toddler will be heard in Riverside Superior Court. People v. Richard Cox (RIF125661 & E077026) 
• Criminal resentencing: drive-by shooting; Riverside Superior Judge Otis Sterling’s ruling mostly affirmed, but the appellate court orders resentencing on certain enhancements due to California criminal justice reforms. People v. Angel Lopez (INF1601092 & E073016) 
• Dismissal of wrongful death claims: teen suicide in county hospital; Riverside Superior Judge Daniel
