  • Hurtado sues on claims he was unjustly arrested, beaten and bitten by Ontario police officers and their dog on June 21, 2023.
• Windy Taylor v. City of Redlands (5:25-cv-00299). California Central District Judge Jesus Bernal presides.
  • The family of Winston Taylor sues on allegations he was beaten to death and abandoned by Redlands police officers in the morning of Dec. 28, 2023. The complaint claims police responded to a robbery at Joe’s Liquor Store, on the intersection of Highway 38 and Wabash Ave. 
• George Gonzalez v. City of Hemet (5:25-cv-00331). California Central District Judge Kenly Kato presides.
  • Gonzalez claims excessive force and battery from a Hemet Police Officer Patrick Sobaszek, Sgt. Andrew Reynoso and state highway patrol officer Sean Irick. The complaint claims he was shot in the back in Beaumont the evening of Jan. 24, 2024.
• Christy Gatewood v. City of Hemet (5:25-cv-00353). California Central District Judge Sunshine Sykes presides.
  • Gatewood sues for unlawful seizure of person, false arrest and violation of her relationship with her son. She claims she was prevented from attending to her infant son as he was dying in the care of a hospital because Hemet police treated the case as a homicide investigation.
• David Villalobos v. City of Ontario (5:25-cv-00384). California Central District Judge Cynthia Valenzuela presides.
  • Villalobos sues on claims he was repeatedly punched by Ontario police officers. He had called the officers Dec. 29, 2023, after being hit by another car. He sues for wrongful arrest, excessive force, assault, battery, negligence and violation of his civil rights.
• Raul Padilla Jr. v. City of Hemet (5:25-cv-00431). Unassigned.
  • Padilla sues on claims he was beaten by Hemet police officers.
• Devin Richmond v. City of Riverside (5:25-cv-00372). California Central District Judge Fernando Olguin presides.
  • Richmond sues on claims that Riverside police pulled him over to discriminatory practices. His complaint says he was arrested without probable cause after leaving Bible study on March 5, 2023.
